The spread of petty crime means that we need to protect ourselves and those closest to us as well as pay more attention to our belongings.

We would not want the peace and tranquillity of our family to be interrupted by some unpleasant event, unfortunately, news events teach us that sometimes the ferocity, cunning and industriousness of criminals have no limits. The evasive systems used to circumvent traditional security systems have prompted equipment manufacturers to migrate from 'classic' burglar alarm systems to more advanced systems that in turn interface with far more complex equipment.

Analog and digital signals, voltages and impulses are suspended from a wire, a cable that must guarantee operation in all circumstances, in the presence of humidity, laid outside, pressed behind a piece of furniture or crammed into an inadequate ducting.

All too often we 'generalise', thinking that one cable is as good as another, and the end user is never made aware of the fact that a simple cable that is broken, oxidised, with an inadequate cross-section, or due to carelessness, can compromise the operation of a system costing thousands of euros, perhaps even at night. If we consider, therefore, that in terms of cost, the cable represents on average less than 3% of the total investment for the realisation of the burglar alarm system and that a quality alarm cable is a fundamental component for the correct functioning of the system, spending a few extra cents per metre is really priceless.
