Arteleta - "articoli elettrici et affini" - was founded in Milan on 17th October 1944 on the initiative of a businessman of Greek/Jewish origin, Samuel Sullam.

After the war, Giulio Viganò joined the company and at the end of the 1950s his son Giorgio, the current chairman, took over the management of the company.

It was during these years of great economic development for Italy that the company's current character took shape, with the acquisition of important exclusive agency contracts with leading European manufacturers and the expansion of the range of products offered under the now historic LYVIA brand. It was then necessary to provide the company with more space for warehouses and offices to accommodate a reality that, from a family-type management, passed to an entrepreneurial type, with a staff divided into different departments: commercial, administrative, logistics.

In 1991 the name of the company was changed to ARTELETA INTERNATIONAL, in order to express even more explicitly the vocation to keep pace with market changes and the new global reality that characterises today's world.

In recent years, ARTELETA has further developed its global product range and commercial potential, with the acquisition of new warehouses and the adoption of the most up-to-date information technology to improve its service to the market.
