    How does a heat pump work?

    • The operation is characterized by a closed-circuit system with a refrigerant fluid inside (for eco-sustainability issues today we almost always use the refrigerant R-32, also known as fluorine methane or Freon 32) subject to a cyclical change of state, passing from the liquid phase to steam and vice versa; this obviously occurs with an expenditure of electricity, as the heat pump extracts and transfers thermal energy using electricity. According to the laws of technical physics and psychrometry, there will be variations in pressure and temperature and the heat pump exploits these variations that occur at the level of the evaporator and compressor, with an overall result of efficiency or coefficient of performance (COP) very advantageous, even higher than 4-5. It means that for every electric kW spent, as a result you have 4-5 kW of thermal power generated by the system.

       

    Air to air or air to water heat pump? Which to choose?

    • Unlike air-to-air pumps, air-to-water heat pumps have a higher initial cost but they also produce domestic hot water, therefore they do not require an extra boiler or traditional system for domestic hot water.

       

    Why choose a Daikin Altherma air-to-water heat pump?

    • The outdoor unit extracts energy from the air to provide heating, cooling and hot water. Up to 75% of the energy used comes from the air, with the rest provided by electricity. The air-to-water heat pump relies on a compressor and refrigerant to transfer energy from the air to the water, heating it to meet your needs and use it in your home

       

    Monoblock unit:

    • The monoblock unit is an outdoor unit that includes the refrigerant circuit. In this case there is no indoor unit, only a wiring module and an autonomous hot water tank.


       

    Medium temperature heat pump:

    • Ideal for applications in new buildings and major renovations, medium-temperature heat pumps are best paired with underfloor heating and heat pump convectors that require a lower temperature to provide equivalent comfort to radiators.

       

    Newly designed paneling:

     

    • A black horizontal front grille conceals the single fan, reducing the perception of sound level produced by the unit.
    • Light gray paneling reflects the space in which the unit is installed, allowing it to blend seamlessly into any environment.

    A single fan for high capacity units:
