Fischer's FBN II expansion anchor is a steel anchor for non-cracked concrete. Its long thread and two anchorage depths make FBN II particularly flexible. In addition to pre-positioning and through installation, this expansion anchor is also suitable for spaced installation.

Strengths:

  • FBN II achieves maximum load capacity with a standard anchorage depth. This reduces the number of required fastening points and allows the use of smaller plate sizes.
  • The long threading allows balancing the construction tolerance of components. In addition, FBN II is suitable for spaced installation. This increases flexibility.
  • Few hammer blows and a very low number of turns for torquing ensure easy assembly.
  • The shaped end protects the thread from damage. and thus ensures faster installation and disassembly of the object to be fastened.

Advantages:

  • Certified for structural applications (CE marking Option 7 for non-cracked concrete according to ETA 07/0211).
  • Specifically designed for applications in dry, unpolluted environments.
  • Starting with M8, it is possible to take advantage of the certified double anchorage depth depending on the thickness of the element to be fastened or the loads to be secured
  • High tensile performance in non-cracked concrete allows fewer attachment points and consequently smaller plate sizes.
  • The long threads allow objects of various thicknesses to be fastened and permit possible spaced installation, also allowing out-of-plumb adjustments.
  • The remarkably simple through installation is very fast due to the few hammer blows and low number of wrench turns required by the anchor to achieve the required torque.
  • The end of the anchor protects the thread from damage, ensuring faster installation (and eventual removal) of the object to be fastened.

Applications:

  • Steel structures
  • Balustrades
  • Consoles
  • Ladders
  • Cable walkways
  • Machinery
  • Steps
  • Gates
  • Facades

Supporting materials:

  • Approved for: C20/25 to C50/60 concrete, non-cracked
  • Also suitable for: C12/15 concrete - Natural stone with compact structure

Installation:

  • FBN II is particularly suitable and quick for through-hole installations but is also suitable for nonthrough-hole installations. For the diameter on the plate, observe the specifications in Technical data
  • Drill holes in the substrate using a suitable concrete drill bit, observing the diameter prescribed in Technical Data for the size of the dowel to be installed.
  • In the case of holes drilled by rotopercussion, clean the hole itself by blowing (use the ABG pump or alternatively the AB-K bellows).
  • In the case of holes drilled with FHD drills (simultaneously performs both drilling and cleaning the hole), no cleaning is necessary.
  • Tap the dowel deep with a hammer until the washer hits the object to be fastened.
  • For series installations, the use of the FABS striker is recommended.
  • Apply the tightening torque prescribed in Technical Data by using a torque wrench.
  • When the tightening torque is applied, the tapered end of the anchor is drawn into the clamp, which expands against the hole wall.
  • FBN II is also suitable for spaced installation due to the long thread that allows the use of a nut/locknut (not included) to adjust the distance from the support. To bring the dowel into torque, apply tightening to the support through the washer and nut provided.
  • The head marking (letters A to Z) specifies what is the maximum thickness that can be fixed and thus to check afterwards the correctness of the installation
