The performance characteristics of CSST pipe, are related not only to the quality of the steel but especially to the following two factors:
- The bend radii of the corrugations and the pitch, give CSST piping maximum performance during bending and allow that along the bend the reduction in internal diameter and relative flow rate is negligible
- The minimum thickness of 0.3 mm allows the tubing to have high impact resistance, considerable resistance to crushing, and excellent bending functionality
The special qualities previously described give CSST pipe physical characteristics of semi-rigidity that allow, during installation, cold changes of direction without the use of fittings.
