With Hibernation Link Down power-saving technology, the GSD-503 will automatically adjust the power consumption of ports that are off or not connected to the network device.

Intelligent Power Usage uses an intelligent algorithm that actively determines the appropriate power level based on the length of the cable. When the GSD-503 is connected with an Ethernet cable shorter than 20 m, a device can achieve maximum power savings because the GSD-503 will automatically detect the length of the Ethernet cable and reduce power consumption. The connected device can substantially reduce the overall power consumption, which contributes significantly to energy saving.

The GSD-503 is designed with a modern compact metal housing and is easy for deploying high-speed Gigabit networks in home or SOHO applications. Providing a 10 Gbps internal switching structure, the GSD-503 can handle an extremely large amount of data in a secure topology by connecting to a high-capacity backbone or server. The GSD-503 provides a 2K MAC address table and offers wire-speed packet transfer performance without the risk of packet loss. The device's high data rate makes it ideal for most Gigabit environments, especially for upgrading the network to a Gigabit environment.

All RJ45 copper interfaces of the GSD-503 support 10/100/1000Mbps auto-negotiation for optimal speed detection via RJ45 Category 5, 5e or 6 cables. They support the standard auto-MDI/MDI-X function that can detect the type of connection to any Ethernet device without requiring special straight-through or crossover cables.

The GSD-503 can connect directly to department switches or backbone servers. With up to 10 Gbps of non-blocking switch fabric, the GSD-503 can be used to create a high-bandwidth Gigabit switched network quickly and easily.
