To facilitate 32 W PoE power networking applications with Gigabit speed transmission, the GSD-2022P is equipped with 16 10/100/1000BASE-T Gigabit Ethernet ports, 2 additional Gigabit TP ports and 2 1000BASE-X SFP interfaces with the internal power system. With a total PoE budget of 185 watts, it features Gigabit IEEE 802.3af PoE (up to 15.4 W) and IEEE 802.3at PoE+ (up to 32 W) capabilities on all ports.

Offering reliable switching technology and advanced networking capabilities, the GSD-2022P streamlines the installation and power management of network devices such as wireless access points, VoIP phones, and security cameras. It also eliminates deployment time and costs by integrating power and data switching into a single unit and freeing network devices from power outlet location restrictions and additional AC cabling.

The GSD-2022P provides an ideally secure surveillance system at a lower total cost. The GSD-2022P provides 16 10/100/1000Mbps 802.3at PoE+ ports capable of providing enough PoE power for 16 IEEE 802.3af/IEEE 802.3at PoE+ IP cameras simultaneously. It is also capable of connecting with a 16-channel NVR or two 8-channel NVRs uplinked to the backbone switch and monitoring center. With such a high-performance switch architecture, video files recorded by PoE IP cameras can be stored in the NVR system where the administrator can control and monitor surveillance images both in the local LAN and at remote sites.

The DIP switch provides Standard, VLAN and Extend modes of operation:

  • The GSD-2022P operates as a regular IEEE 802.3at PoE+ switch in the "Standard" operating mode.
  • VLAN operation mode provides port-based VLAN function that helps prevent the mutual influence of multicast or IP camera broadcast storm
  • In the "Extend" operating mode, the GSD-2022P operates on a per-port basis at 10 Mbps in duplex mode, but supports a 20-watt PoE power output over a distance of up to 250 meters, exceeding the 100 m limit on UTP Ethernet cable

With this brand new feature, the GSD-2022P provides an additional solution for 802.3at PoE+ distance extension, saving the cost of Ethernet cable installation.

The GSD-2022P adopts not only Power over Ethernet technology, but also automated PD monitoring and real-time PoE status. The live PD verification function is applied in Standard, VLAN and Extended modes. After the port's PoE is turned on, the device starts to detect whether the port is transmitting data. If the port is not transmitting data and the duration exceeds a specific time, PoE will automatically turn off and then turn on again. It will also greatly improve network reliability as the PoE port will restore power to the PD, thus reducing the administrator's management burden.

The two mini-GBIC slots built into the GSD-2022P are compatible with the 1000BASE-SX/LX SFP (Small Form-factor Pluggable) fiber transceiver, which is uplinked to the backbone switch and long-distance monitoring center. The distance can be extended from 550 meters (multi-mode fiber) to 10/20/30/40/50/50/60/70/120 kilometers (single-mode fiber or WDM fiber). They are suitable for applications within data centers and enterprise deployments.

Applications: Providing 16 PoE inline power interfaces, the GSD-2022P can easily create a power supply that can centrally control the IP phone system, IP camera system and wireless AP group for the enterprise. Cameras can be installed around the corner of the business or campus for surveillance needs. Without the limitation of the power outlet, the GSD-2022P makes camera installation easier and more efficient.
