The Grundfos MAGNA3 D circulator is the ideal choice for almost any construction project, old or new. With its unrivalled energy efficiency, comprehensive range and built-in communication capabilities, the MAGNA3 D is ideal for engineers and designers looking to create high-performance heating and cooling systems.

The pump is maintenance-free thanks to its canned rotor type design. This also means that the pump and motor form an integral unit with no shaft seal and only two seals for sealing. The bearings are lubricated by the pumped liquid.

MAGNA3 D offers three multi-pump modes: alternating, backup and cascade operation. In alternating and backup operation, only one pump operates at a time, both providing constant comfort. In alternating operation, the changeover from one pump to the other depends on time or energy. If one pump fails, the other pump takes over automatically. In backup operation, the backup pump is operated at intervals to prevent seizure. If the service pump stops due to a fault, the backup pump starts automatically. In cascade operation, the pumps switch on and off automatically, adapting to the current consumption of the system. The two pumps communicate wirelessly.

MAGNA3 D has an intuitive display and allows you to connect wirelessly with the Grundfos GO Remote app, giving you access to advanced reporting and monitoring. The pump includes fieldbus communication via CIM modules, as well as configurable analog and digital inputs and relays. Control functions include AUTOADAPT and FLOWADAPT. FLOWADAPT reduces the need for throttling valves, thereby cutting costs on system components.

MAGNA3 D is the best choice for a wide range of heating and cooling applications, including:

MAGNA3 D is a single phase pump and is characterized by having the controller and display integrated into the control box. The pump also has an integrated differential pressure and temperature sensor. The pump housing is available in either cast iron or stainless steel. The composite rotor is carbon fibre reinforced, the bearing plate and rotor cover are stainless steel and the stator housing is aluminium.

The power electronics are air-cooled. MAGNA3 incorporates a 4-pole permanent magnet synchronous motor (PM motor). This type of motor is characterized by higher efficiency than a conventional squirrel-cage asynchronous motor. The pump speed is controlled by an integrated frequency converter.
